Firm Remodeling is a licensed remodeling contractor based in the Renton area. We do kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and full renovations for homeowners around Renton and the nearby suburbs. We’re local, so the person who picks up the phone is connected to the crew that shows up at your door. License #: FIRMRRL783PU.
People usually call us because their house stopped fitting the way they live. The kitchen’s too tight when everyone’s home. The bathroom’s the same one that was there when they moved in years ago. There’s a basement doing nothing but storing boxes. We sort that kind of thing out, and we keep you posted the whole way through instead of going quiet for three weeks.
Fixing up the house you’ve already got beats moving for one simple reason: you keep everything you actually like about living where you live. The address, the neighbors, the school down the road. You just end up with a place that works.
We’ve done jobs all over Renton, older homes near downtown and the Highlands, newer ones out by Fairwood. So if you’re after a more open main floor, or a home office that isn’t jammed into a bedroom corner, or a closet that finally fits your clothes, we can put a plan and a real number in front of you.
A lot of people come to us still deciding between remodeling and selling. Once you add up agent fees, moving costs, and the risk of buying into someone else’s bad decisions, staying put often wins. Get a free walkthrough first and we’ll tell you straight. If your project’s actually in a neighboring city, we also cover Kent, Maple Valley, Covington, Black Diamond, Hobart, and Issaquah.
Here’s what our Renton crew takes on, from a single room to the whole house.
Upgrade your bathroom with stylish, functional designs built to fit your home and lifestyle. Most of the Renton bathrooms we work on are tight on space, so we start by figuring out the layout that gets you the most out of the square footage you already have. Walk-in showers, new tile, a vanity with real storage, better lighting, heated floors if you want them.
Bring new life to your kitchen with custom layouts, modern finishes, and quality craftsmanship. We handle cabinets, counters, backsplash and flooring, plus the plumbing and electrical behind the walls when you want to move a sink or wire up an island. Plenty of Renton kitchens are still laid out the way they were decades ago, and a smarter plan usually makes the room feel twice the size.
Turn your basement into a cozy, livable space perfect for work, play, or guests. A lot of homes around Renton and the Highlands have a basement that never got finished past the concrete and the furnace. We frame, insulate and finish it properly so it stays warm and dry through a wet Washington winter instead of becoming the room nobody goes into.
Reimagine your entire home with seamless, top-to-bottom renovations tailored to your vision. We sequence the work room by room so you’re not living in a construction zone any longer than you have to, and so trades aren’t tripping over each other. Whether it’s an older place near downtown Renton or a newer build out by Fairwood, you get one crew, one schedule, and one person to call.
Upgrade your floors, walls, or backsplash with precision-installed tile that adds beauty and durability to any space. Tile is the part of a remodel people notice first and complain about longest when it’s done badly, so we take the time to get the layout, spacing and waterproofing right underneath it. Showers, entryways, kitchen backsplashes and heated bathroom floors for Renton homes.
Bathrooms are worth doing well. You use the room every day, and a good one helps at resale. We take on anything from freshening up a hallway bath to gutting a master suite down to the studs.
What goes in depends on your space and what you want to spend. Walk-in shower, soaking tub, tile, a new vanity, better lighting, more storage, heated floors so the tile isn’t freezing in February. We’ll walk you through what actually fits your square footage before anyone swings a hammer, because finding out mid-project is how budgets blow up.
One thing worth knowing: on homes built before 1978 we follow lead-safe work practices, which is a real concern with a lot of older Renton houses. If you want the details, the EPA’s Renovation, Repair and Painting program page lays out the rules. When you’re ready, request a free bathroom remodel quote.
The kitchen wears out faster than the rest of the house, which is probably why it’s the room people remodel first. Our Renton crew handles the whole thing: layout, cabinets, counters, backsplash, flooring, and the messier work behind the walls when you want to move the sink or wire up an island.
Before we draw anything, we want to know how you actually use the room. Somebody who bakes constantly needs a different kitchen than somebody who reheats takeout, and a family that all crowds in at once needs room to move. We build around that with materials that won’t look tired in five years.
Kitchens pair well with other work, so people often roll a bathroom or a bigger renovation into the same job and save on labor that would’ve overlapped anyway. Bring it up at your free consultation.
A few things set us apart from the bigger outfits. We’re licensed (FIRMRRL783PU) and we’re actually local, working out of the Maple Valley and Renton area rather than dispatching from somewhere across the state.
You also deal with one point of contact instead of getting handed off between a salesperson, a designer, and a crew who’ve never talked to each other. Pricing comes in writing with a real scope before we start, we follow lead-safe practices on older homes, and we leave your place clean when we’re done. That last part sounds obvious until you’ve hired someone who didn’t.

Honestly, it depends on what you’re doing. A bathroom refresh and a full kitchen gut aren’t in the same universe price-wise, and a whole-home renovation is its own thing again. We won’t throw out a number before seeing the space, because a guess doesn’t help you. Book a free walkthrough and you’ll get a written estimate, no strings.

A bathroom usually runs a couple of weeks. A kitchen takes longer, mostly because cabinets have lead times and any plumbing or electrical changes add days. We give you a real schedule up front and tell you the moment something slips.
Yes. We help you plan the layout and pick finishes, then we build it. Same team the whole way, so nothing gets lost between the drawing and the doing.
